September 11 Memories
September 11 memories – where were YOU when it happened? Me – I was at home (on vacation from work), TV was on (Good Day NY – in the “Jim Ryan” era…..
), talking to one of my church elders on the phone…
All of a sudden, the TV, which had been in a commercial, switched to reporter Dick Oliver (I always liked him – he had a certain grubbiness about him…..) – he was LIVE from what would soon be re-named Ground Zero – this was at the point where Tower 1 was already burning and all that.
My elder and I immediately started praying on the phone – she had a heart and a burden for intercession that was unbelievable (I say had because she went home to be with the Lord a few years ago)….and we BOTH knew that things would be changed forever…..
My testimony out of all this? Two things:
1) I wasn’t supposed to be on vacation that week from my job – but I had switched with another co-worker – God knew…
2) I used to like going ALL the way up to the observation deck on the 110th Floor in Tower 2 – but something told me NOT to go that day…God knew….
That’s why I live to tell my story – all because of God….because even if we don’t ALWAYS know what’s going on – God knows…..
My prayer for 9/11 is for the families of those 3,000 souls lost that day, for the survivors of 9/11 – the mental, physical, spiritual, and psychological challenges – we know – but more importantly…..God knows…..
So what are YOUR 9/11 stories? Comment below…..
